Homemade Jewellery Cleaner
Use 1 glass jar or bowl (an empty salsa jar)
Place 1 piece aluminum foil shiney side up on the bottom of jar or bowl.
Add 1 cup hot water (heating water in microwave for a minute or two is hot enough)
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 tablespoon dish washing liquid (joy, dawn, etc.)
Stir slightly. Place jewelry on top of foil and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
Remove jewelry with plastic spoon and rinse in cool water. Thoroughly dry jewelry with a towel .
Cleans gold-filled, brass, german (nickel) silver, and sterling silver with no problem. Be cautious when cleaning jewellery with freshwater pearls, shell cameos and mother of pearl. Also be cautious with gold plated chains.
